![]() ![]() *1st Level - Rename Among the Dead and remove the Undead Sanctuary. ![]() I would want the subclass to offer the Warlock good defense and support tools. I would really like to see the Undying Patron focused more on immortality and have the Necromancy themes removed. If the feature on a Death Save was changed to a Short Rest from a long rest and the Spare the Dying improvement uses scaled with Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest it would play much better. Even if all they did was change Defy Death's uses like the Bladesinger's song. They could have made a few changes to make it so that it is better. I feel like Van Richten's was a good chance to republish the Undying Patron much like the Bladesinger was. The SCAG subclasses have been very slowly republished, and the Undying Warlock has similarities to the Undead Patron so to not republish it seems like WotC is leaving it to die. With the Undead Patron being published in the upcoming book, are people concerned that this will leave the Undying Patron forgotten? Many people argue that the Undead Patron is not "fixing" or replacing the Undying Patron but they clearly have a lot of thematic overlap with Undead, Undeath, Necromancy and example Patrons being Liches or Dreadlords.
